$5.5 Million Awarded Through Partnership Grant Program

Across Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, nonprofit organizations are doing essential work every day to expand opportunity and strengthen communities. United Way's Partnership Grant Program is designed to invest deeply in these organizations and give them the flexibility to put resources where they can have the greatest impact.

Launched in 2023, the Partnership Grant Program (PGP) marked a shift in United Way's approach to grantmaking. We created the program with a goal of being the best possible partner and supporter to our region's nonprofits. Toward that goal, PGP provides general operating support, allowing organizations to use funding where they need it most to strengthen their mission, reach and impact. We also streamlined reporting requirements to reduce administrative burden and give our partners more time to focus on the communities they serve.

Our 2026 Partners

This year marks the second round of funding through PGP. We are proud to announce that 55 nonprofit organizations will receive two-year, $50,000 grants through our Education & Mentorship and Benefits Access & Meeting Basic Needs funding pillars.

Education & Mentorship investments support organizations helping young people learn, grow and thrive through early learning, literacy, mentorship, out-of-school-time programs and other opportunities for young people.

Benefits Access & Meeting Basic Needs investments support organizations connecting individuals and families to benefits, resources and essential services that promote stability and help meet ongoing needs.

Together, these organizations bring deep expertise, trusted community relationships and a commitment to expanding opportunity across our region.

Investing Differently in Our Nonprofit Partners

Our approach to PGP reflects what we hear from nonprofit leaders: flexible funding matters. General operating grants allow organizations to respond to changing needs, invest in their people and operations, and make decisions based on what will best advance their mission.

Education & Mentorship and Benefits Access & Meeting Basic Needs are two of four PGP funding pillars, alongside Community Resiliency and Economic Mobility. Grants through the two remaining pillars will be awarded in 2027. Through all four pillars, United Way is investing in the strength and sustainability of the nonprofit organizations that make our region stronger.

We are grateful to our partners for the work they do every day and proud to invest in their continued impact.
