We believe poverty is solvable. Through local partnerships, deep community engagement, and targeted interventions, CCU works to dismantle systemic barriers and build pathways to jobs, financial independence and opportunity.
We’re building nonprofit coalitions that combine expertise, align delivery, and deploy capital efficiently to expand economic opportunity in Camden.

Comprehensive access to healthcare, tax prep, broadband, public benefits, and support services drawing down $15M+ in public and private resources.
Workforce Readiness
Upskilling programs for City jobs. Working with industry leaders in Camden to better position residents for higher paying jobs, soft-skill development and employment readiness.
Through Camden Community Uplift, United Way is advancing a partnership with Rowan University to design a Camden Workforce Blueprint focused on youth development, workforce pathways, and economic mobility in Camden.

- Technical and credential-based training
- Healthcare and skilled trades careers

The Camden Community Uplift initiative is guided by a Leadership Taskforce comprised of cross-sector representatives who:
- Identify systemic challenges and set initiative priorities
- Coordinate investments and advocate for alignment
- Facilitate collaboration between public, private, and community stakeholders
