Our Sincerest Thank You

Each year, hundreds of individuals would normally gather in person for our Women United Gala to highlight the impact of local women leaders and the remarkable impact they make on the lives of others. This year’s honoree, J. Lindsay T. Johnston, was chosen to receive the Women United Award for her incredible commitment, dedication and support to the community and our local United Way.

Throughout her thirty-year career, Lindsay has embraced every opportunity to empower women and girls and has served her community as a problem-solver and active volunteer. She is currently the President of the Power of Professional Women, which is a professional membership association focused on the development of the next generation of leaders through education, mentoring and purposeful connections. Lindsay came into the organization during its first six months and has led its growth to 350 plus members and over 20 sponsors.

During this year’s virtual gala, Women United also presented the Next Generation Leader Award to two female leaders under 40 who have not only accomplished remarkable professional success, but who also share a deep commitment to give, advocate, and volunteer. This year, Women United honored Jasmin Senior Bostic, Senior Manager of Global University Relations at CSL Behring and Katharyn Christian McGee, Pro Bono Counsel at Duane Morris..

The night was filled with a lively program that consisted of video contributions from our Girls Today Leaders Tomorrow graduates, a heartfelt speech from our CEO Bill Golderer, virtual violin and piano performances, and even a virtual after party which featured networking opportunities, meet and greets and casual conversations among attendees.

While the on-going global pandemic has changed our daily lives, it didn’t stop our amazing volunteers and sponsors from continuing their support and generous giving to ensure another successful year of celebrating incredible women leadership. We are incredibly grateful to our presenting sponsor, Independence Blue Cross, and to all volunteers and team members who worked diligently to ensure the night’s success. Our Women United community exemplifies what we can accomplish when we work together. And for that we say thank you!
