Julie serves as Managing Director of Private Philanthropy of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) but is best described as our People Person. Julie oversees UWGPSNJ’s individual giving, donor relations and communications, grant writing, and special events. She nurtures and grows our donor ecosystem so we can meet our region’s poverty-fighting needs.
Prior to joining UWGPSNJ, Julie spent more than five years managing donor engagement and special events at the National Museum of American Jewish History. Additionally, Julie has held fundraising positions at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center and Bread & Roses Community Fund. Julie began her career living and working with communities in need as an AmeriCorps*NCCC volunteer (Class X, Sacramento). With more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Julie is our team’s fundraising and events specialist.
Julie is a graduate of American University (B.A.) and University of Pennsylvania (M.S.W.). She is a board member of Supportive Older Women’s Network (SOWN) and a reading coach for United Way’s Vello Tutoring program.
When not at work, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, two young daughters, and rescue mutt Rosie.
