Jennifer Gleason is the Managing Director of Social Venture Partners Philadelphia (SVP), a role in which she is charged with leading the launch of this transformational new initiative.
SVP Philadelphia is a regional network of community leaders and philanthropists, who are committed to leveraging their social, financial and intellectual capital to provide grants and volunteer assistance to the leaders of high potential nonprofit organizations, whose missions can help bring an end to inter-generational poverty. SVP Philadelphia is part of a global network of more than 3,500 Partners in 43 cities, who have collectively contributed more than $60 million to 900+ organizations.
Prior to her role with SVP, she served as the Director of Major and Individual Gifts at UWGPSNJ and was also responsible for the formative stage of United Way’s Innovation Fund. Earlier in her United Way career, she oversaw capacity building initiatives designed to sustain and strengthen nonprofit partners through leadership development, strategic partnerships and outcomes measurement.
Jennifer serves on the Board of Camp to Belong River Valley, which is dedicated to reuniting brothers and sisters placed in separate foster, adoptive or kinship homes through events that encourage positive sibling connections and empower meaningful relationships. She also serves on the Advisory Board for Sibling Connections, a nonprofit in Massachusetts, and has volunteered with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Big Brothers, Big Sisters Independence Region. She was past chair of the Philadelphia chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP), where she was responsible for setting the strategic vision for the chapter and designing programming for its members.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from James Madison University, as well as a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Bryn Mawr College. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring ways to be of service to her adopted hometown of Philadelphia.
