Through our Signature Programs, our United Way leverages partners, resources and effective strategies to deliver proven results to help end poverty in our region.Together, we lead by example and show what’s possible when we LIVE UNITED to build a stronger community together – one child, one adult and one family at a time.


United for a Stronger Community


When we are United2Learn, more of our students to thrive, increasing the number of successful youth throughout our region.

  • Success By 6 – building the foundation for successful youth with a whole child approach to early literacy and quality early childhood education
  • Backpack-A-Thon – equipping students with the tools for academic success by mobilizing 600+ volunteers to pack 30,000 backpacks
  • Pre-K for PA – setting the stage for ongoing academic success by advocating for increased access to quality pre-k for all Pennsylvania’s 3- and 4-year olds
  • Pre-K Our Way – positioning kids to start school on track by advocating to expand full-day, public pre-k to more New Jersey communities  


When we are United2Connect, more community members get the education and job training that opens the pathways to career advancement

  • Job Opportunity Network (JOIN) – narrowing the gap between the region’s workforce and employers and equip workers (including young and older adults) with the skills needed for high-demand positions
  • Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow – empowering young women to achieve their potential and pursue their goals, with a focus on college and career preparation


When we are United2Thrive, more individuals and families have the resources they need to build assets to become self-sufficient and stable.

  • Lubert Individual Development Accounts (IDA) – helping working individuals build assets by matched savings to save for an education, small business expansion or new first home
  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) – leveraging trained volunteers to provide tax preparation services to community members
  • Siemer Institute for Family Stability (SIFS) – improving stability for families experiencing house insecurity or homelessness through case management, financial assistance and planning
  • Children’s Savings Accounts – providing students with a vehicle to save for the future through special, incentivized savings accounts
  • Workforce Solutions – equipping re-entering community members with job skills and employment opportunities to move their lives forward

  • 2-1-1 – providing community members in need with resources and referrals 24/7
  • Trauma-Informed Care – building a trauma-informed region through increasing awareness and education by responding to community members’ challenging life experiences to support their journeys
  • Day of Action – creating stronger communities through one global day dedicated to volunteerism and service
  • UNITED2FEED – addressing hunger in our community by mobilizing 500+ volunteers to pack 8,000 emergency food boxes.
  • Capacity Building – strengthening the nonprofit sector by providing leadership development, training and other resources to ensure leaders have the skills to succeed
  • Get Healthy Camden – improving health outcomes in the City of Camden by creating  and supporting a culture of health
