MLK Day of Service

Martin Luther King (MLK) Day of Service was designated a National Day of Service, making it “A Day On, rather than just another day off.”

It is the largest day of service in the nation, and each year United Way invites volunteers to serve throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

In 2017, more than 145,000 volunteers participated in 1,800 projects.

National Support, Local Impact

Bring Dr. King’s call to service to your local community

Engage – Sign up to host an MLK Day project, or volunteer for one of the existing projects and celebrate the life of Dr. King.

Connect – Whether you’re interested in making a difference as a nonprofit board member or learning from influential leaders across the region, you can grow your network and drive meaningful Impact in your community through our young professional groups.

Raise Your Voice – Together, we can pave the way for more high school graduates by improving the quality of education from cradle to career. Contact your New Jersey or Pennsylvania representatives to advocate for expanding quality pre-k for more families.

Whether you are interested in tutoring, mentoring, or spending time lending a hand to someone in need, you can join us in making a difference. Find a volunteer project that fits your needs and interests.
