Greater Philadelphia Corporate Volunteer Council (GPCVC)

The Greater Philadelphia Corporate Volunteer Council (GPCVC), driven by our United Way, brings the nonprofit and business community together to increase the collective Impact of employee volunteer engagement programs.

Through best practices and information sharing, members have the unique opportunity to collaborate on effective, efficient and meaningful ways to strengthen their company’s engagement programs. Together, GPCVC members are finding better ways to galvanize the workforce around making a difference in communities throughout the region. Who can be part of the GPCVC?
General membership in the GPCVC is open to any business that operates or has offices located in the Greater Philadelphia Area and either supports an existing employee volunteer program or is considering the development of one. The GPCVC is only open to companies and for-profit businesses that currently have or are interested in having an employee engagement program.

How is the GPCVC structured?
The GPCVC was formed by United Way in 2011 and is led by a Steering Committee that meets quarterly and composed of officers and corporate representatives with established employee volunteer engagement programs, as well as appointed members from federal, state, and local civic engagement agencies.

What does it mean to be a part of the GPCVC?
Throughout the year, GPCVC members will be invited to attend networking events, seminars and roundtable events. Each member company will designate a minimum of one representative to attend the Annual General Membership Meeting each fall.

IMPACT2030 is an initiative led by the private sector—in collaboration with the United Nations, civil society, academia and other stakeholders—with the mission to activate human capital investments through employee volunteer programs to advance the achievement of the SDGs.

Through its Action Team approach, anchored by IMPACT2030 Partner companies, it is creating a cross-sector and cross-industry global movement that is maximizing opportunities to collaborate and scale impact.  In 2017, the GPCVC was selected to lead the IMPACT2030 Action Team in Philadelphia.
